Daegmael (Hours & Minutes), 2022

Daegmael, taken from the Anglo-Saxon translation of “day measure”, looks at how we label and schedule our days against time.

Minutes and hours, little, tiny dashes that go round in a circle that only possess their meaning and functionality due to an assigned numerical value.

Here, time becomes abstracted away from an otherwise recognisable relation.

So many of our life’s aspects are governed by these small lines. Daegmael aims to point to the importance of looking more outwardly from oneself and slowing down.
